I hate to say it but I’m not interested in most ‘Black’ movies that come out. Anything Tyler Perry got his hands in, or something about a wedding, a funeral, or a bachelor party makes me instantly tune out.
But lately, we’ve been getting some variety and it’s looking like (and I could be wrong) movies like “The Blackening” might be stepping out of the norm. It looks stupid.. but is genuinely funny. I’ll actually go spend my money to support it.
Seven black friends who go away for the weekend only to find themselves trapped in a cabin with a killer who has a vendetta. Will their street smarts and knowledge of horror movies help them stay alive? Probably not.
