Born In Brooklyn NY, raised in Kingston Jamaica Natty Turna brings a unique West Indian vibe to Hip Hop Music! Son of world renowned Drummer Paul Douglas of the legendary Reggae group Toots and the Maytals, music has been in his blood from day one. He is also cousins with Chubb Rock, and the Hitman Howie Tee, so the Hip Hop pedigree runs deep. After moving back to the States at the age of 17, he would reside in Houston where he would become immersed in that cities underground Hip Hop scene under the moniker Haydeez. He developed a reputation for rugged lyricism and off the top freestyles, first as a member of a 2 man group called Fugitive Massive, then as a member of a 4 man collective called the Skool of Thought. As a member of the afore mention group, he also made his bones in Atlanta where the the Skool of Thought disbanded and Natty Turna was born.
He returned to Houston with a new outlook, and a deep embrace of Rastafari culture. He once again hit the scene to reintroduce him self, and also dropped two Albums. Slave Revolt Vol 1: The Insurrection & Slave Revolt Vol 2: Coup de tat. Still as passionate as the day he began, he still spits that raw unadulterated Hip Hop, with a lot more left in the ank!
