The Invicible Iron Man #12
Since it’s Thanksgiving week, comics were a little scarce. But I can’t tell you how much I’ve been enjoying this current run of The Invincible Iron Man. Cleverly inserting Tony Stark smack dab in the middle of the X-Men’s Fall of X storyline, and pairing him with the unlikely partner (and now wife) Emma Frost has been an enjoyment of snarkiness and quips. I was a little apprehensive when I first heard Gerry Duggen would be penning this volume of Iron Man. But he’s done an excellent job, and it’s got me going back and reading his recent run on X-Men. And I can’t say enough about the artwork by guest artist IG Guara, who I remember had stand-out artwork on Spider-man and Ghost Spider. As for the story, Tony and Emma are still waging their fight against the Stark Sentinels and the mutant-hating industrialist, Feilong. Plus we get a nice cameo from Riri Williams and Kingpin, so you’ve made my day. All-in-all another solid issue of what’s becoming one of my favorite books of the moment.
