Ok week for comics. Absolute Wonder Woman was a great read. And I took a chance and picked up a few volumes of Robert Kirkman’s “Void Rivals”. But my favorite armored Avengers relaunched with a new #1 this week, so you know my pick of the week had to be:
Comic Book of The Week:
Ultimate Spider-man #10
Hickman / Messina / Wilson
Tony Stark’s Iron Man as been rebooted to many times, one of the interesting things is trying to figure out how the new creative team can continue his story in a fresh new way. I not familiar with writer Spencer Akerman and artist Julius Ohta. But after the first few pages.. including the cover, I was set to give this first issue a go.
Issue one picks up in the aftermath of the Mutant Krakoa War. Tony has gotten Start Unlimited back, but the new company board of filled with villains, all of which have access to his technology to start making more weapons of war. Now it’s up to Tony to find a way to soul control of this company back before the Roxxon Corporate intiates a hostile takeover.
If feels like Tony’s always in this position with issue 1’s, but Ackerman’s got me excited. Good Bachalo-style art from Ohta too. I’ve be continuing this ride. Hopefully the Roxxon War will pick up speed.
