Comic Book Pull List: July 31st , 2024

This was almost a hard week to pull my favorite from the pull list. There were new volume of X-Force, a Black Widow one-shot that leads into next weeks Venom War, and great issues of Ultimate Spider-man and Spider-Gwen. The then I saw the finale of Blood Hunt dropped and it was clear what the comic of the week would be:

Comic Book of The Week:
Blood Hunt #5
McKAY / LARRAZ

As far as finale’s go, Blood Hunt 5 really pulls no punches. The heroes finally execute their rally and we get some crazy moves from all parties to put this vampire rebellion down. Doctor Strange gives the power of the Sorceror Supreme to Doctor Doom because he’s the only person who can reverse the effects of the dark dimension. The Avengers hail the resurrection of Moon Knight, along with his dead army to turn the tide in the battle. Dracula, Mile Morales and Brielle (daughter of Blade) take on Blade’s possessed body as the final peace to turn the the tide.

It’s a great all-action issue that really satisifies, which is uncommon these days. Most comics have great set ups but poor endings. This one delivers. McKay did a great job with the pacing throughout the limited series, as well as the art team keeping the mood dark. What i really like is we’re left with a few plot points that seem to be very interesting for Marvel-616. Because of the war, vampires now are immune to the sun. Mile Morales is still a vampire after all this. And Doctor Doom is now The Sorceror Supreme and has plans to ‘save’ the world… that never ends well.

All in all, and excellent issue! Can can’t wait for the upcoming  One World Under Doom.
