Ultimate Universe #1 is an annual issue to give you the state of the new Ultimate Universe, and we get it through the eyes of this version’s Nick Fury (the CLASSIC white Nick Fury). Fury gathers the Maker’s Counsel, the shadow leaders of the world to give them an update on his efforts to find and stop The Ultimates. But as his report goes on, we uncover that it’s the smoke screen. With a year left before The Maker returned, Nick wanted to gather the council to take them out finally.
Camp scripts a great one-off story that has huge implications for the rest of the Ultimate Universe. Scharf’s art is great as always. If you’re trying to find a jump-on point for the Ultimate Universe, this might be the issue to grab.
