I love event post-mortem issues of comics. I love knowing the fallout of what the heroes have to deal with one the threats have been dealt with. In issue 17 of Jed MacKay’s “Avengers”, we see the Avengers after their victory against the vampires in Blood Hunt. This issue is two-fold.. On one side, Chairwoman Captain Marvel addresses the team and talks about who their performance wasn’t up to the legend of other Avengers teams. On the other side, Captain America, Sam Wilson reaches out to X-Man ‘Storm’, for council, AND eventually joining The Avengers roster for some mutant representation on the team. Sam is pretty straight forward apologizing for the Avengers coming to the aid of Krakora as soon as they should’ve and how the Avengers have to do better.
Mackay gives us a nice cool-down issue that still keeps us invested in what’s happening. And with the next event, One World Under Doom this feels like a nice set up to bring more firepower to the team.
