North Carolina native Rapsody ( @rapsody ) serves up slick rhymes over a groove-inflected soundscape in ‘DND (It’s Not Personal)’, a highlight from her newly released album ‘Please Don’t Cry’. — A Colors Show
This has been an excellent time to experience new music. There's something about tuning for Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal algorithms "just right" to deliver new quality songs to your feeds. I've been curating hundreds of playlists across multiple platforms and I've reached the point where these A.I. systems know my musical tastes pretty well. And since there are a lot of like-minded listeners who reach out and ask me for what i'm listening at the moment, I've decided to do a monthly list of the 6 - 12 new artists who are in heavy rotation on a daily basis.…
I've been following Hailey Knox's career ever since she dropped "Gucci Prada Balenciaga" in 2022. It's good to see someone with so much talent and love for music finally starting to the exposure she deserves. I think i've had every song she's dropped in heavy rotation. It feels like "Double Jeopardy" will be more of the same.
Bethesda presents Starfield: The Lofi Girl Remixes
I've been playing Starfield since the day it's dropped. It has everything i love in a game. And even though it's 'cool' to hate on it, I'm still loving everything about it. And one of the great aspects about the game is the excellent orchestral soundtrack that never gets old. So how do you think i felt when I discovered that Bethesda partnered with YouTube's very own Lofi Girl to produce a playlist of remixes inspired by the Starfield soundtrack? I had this up on my site awhile back but I love it so much, I had to post it twice. Enjoy!

Can You Dig That?
I can't tell you why i don't have Phonte Coleman in my top 5 lyricists of all time. i think i listen to him and Little Brother the most on Spotify. And to this day, I get shocked by the dope bars I'm still discovering. But nothing beats the feature verses he has on Torae's 2016 single "Clap Shit Up".
Back 2 The Party
From Queens to rap royalty, Cheryl "Salt" James and Sandra "Pepa" Denton have pushed it real good as a trailblazing duo that changed the game for women in hip-hop. In the golden age of the genre that they helped put on the music map, they became, quite simply, the First Ladies of Hip-Hop. Credited for bringing fun fashion and femininity to hip hop, their unique and authentic style made women pay attention. Everyone could relate to these round the way girls!
3 A.M.
Following a four-year break from unveiling her own solo tracks, Rapsody makes a comeback with her fourth studio album "Please Don't Cry," set to drop on 5/17/24. With 22 tracks, the album aims to peel back the layers of Marlanna Evans' persona. This new release showcases a more introspective side of the immensely talented rapper as she delves deeper into her artistry, displaying a heightened level of vulnerability compared to her previous works. The album rollout commenced with the release of "Asteroids," featuring the three-time Grammy Award-winning producer Hit-Boy. Subsequently, Rapsody premiered "3:AM feat. Erykah Badu" at Erykah's Birthday Bash,…
