This was a pretty light week for me in comics so i don't have much to say. Nut here's my pull list.
Comic Book of The Week:
Ultimate Spider-man #8
Hickman / Checchetto
Rating: 3/5
Best of The Rest:
This week's pull list was filled with Spider-books, Venom War tie-ins and DC's Absolute Power event. But the book of the week came out of nowhere, as I didn't even know this book existed. We're diving back int othe Elsworld's of DC's vampire occupation of Earth...
A pretty good week got my pull list. We got the first issue for The Venom War, the first issue of Simone’s Uncanny X-Men, and some Absolute Power tie-ins for good measure. But this is an Avengers week, so of course my pick of the week is…
This was almost a hard week to pull my favorite from the pull list. There were new volume of X-Force, a Black Widow one-shot that leads into next weeks Venom War, and great issues of Ultimate Spider-man and Spider-Gwen. The then I saw the finale of Blood Hunt dropped and it was clear what the comic of the week would be:
This was a healthy pull list. We got a good amount of event tie-ins for DC's "Absolute Power" and Marvel's "Blood Hunt"... "Ultimate Black Panther" continued to be the surprise stand out in the crop of new Ultimate comics... And the new "Nyx" volume seems to be off to a good start with a dope roster. But what really opened my eyes was at the bottom of my stack. I've been trying to grab one or two issues outside the 'Big Two'. For the most part, they usually turn out to be ok. But every once in a while I…
This week of good, if not leaning toward 'mid'. We started getting a sprinkling of DC Absolute Power tie-ins, a couple more Blood Hunt books dropped, as well as some #1's from Namor, The Phoenix, and Daredevil. But out the pack, the one that stood out was Gerry Duggan's swan song to Tony Stark...
We got some final issues to Marvel's Blood Hunt tie-in books, DC's Absolute Power event kicking into full swing, and a great first issue of Jed McKay's post-Krakoan X-Men title. Even though the week was pretty good. Nothing really seemed to stand out of the list. But after a couple of days of thinking about it, I have to say the book that's stayed on my mind after reading has to be...
Comic Book of The Week:
The Ultimates #2
Camp / Frigeri / Blee
When I heard Jonathan Hickman wouldn't be writing this issue, i lost all confidence in this book.…
This was a week full of 'go home' tie-in issues for Marvel's Blood Hunt event, a few Wolverine one-shots just in time for Deadpool vs. Wolverine dropping later this month, and i found a nice indie double shot Dracula: After Man that i really enjoyed. But the surprise winner in my stack comes from DC! It's been a long time since i've been excited for a DC event, mainly because I feel so lost in their continuity... rebooted or otherwise. But what few pre-comics for Absolute Power i've read have been hinting so something pretty exciting, and now it's here. So of course…
This was a BIG WEEK for my pull list. With 20+ issues, I got more than enough content to sift through. And of course, you know I blazed through most of my haul in a couple days, no problem. We got the penultimate issue for The Blood Hunt event, including 4 tie-ins and one-shots. I picked up the prelude issue to DC's upcoming mega event Absolute Power. And a fellow comic reader pressed me to pick up the crossover issues for House of Brainiac running through current issues of Superman and Action Comics. And even though it was an obvious choice to go with Blood Hunt #4…
DC Comics' upcoming event, "Absolute Power," promises to be a groundbreaking storyline that will redefine the DC Universe. Set to launch later this year, "Absolute Power" envisions a world where the balance of power among heroes and villains has been fundamentally altered. Key characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and others will face unprecedented challenges, reshaping their roles and relationships within the DC Universe. This event aims to explore the moral complexities and ethical dilemmas of absolute power, questioning what it means to be a hero in a world where the lines between good and evil are blurred.
Similar to how…
As a big-time MCU fan, delving into the pool of streaming shows has been one hell of a journey filled with epic adventures, compelling characters, and thrilling storylines. From the streets of Hell's Kitchen to the cosmic realms beyond, each series has offered a unique perspective on the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe.
From the groundbreaking exploration of grief and identity in "WandaVision" to the pulse-pounding action and moral complexity of "The Punisher," these shows have redefined the boundaries of superhero storytelling, pushing the envelope with bold narratives and dynamic characters. Whether it's the gritty realism of "Daredevil," the reality-bending spectacle that…
This was a pretty good week for me. I got a lot of stuff I'd been expecting to read. We got the penultimate issue of Gerry Duggin's run on Invincible Iron Man, some suggested Spider-woman and She-Hulk issues, a few more Blood Hunt tie-ins, and a Batman issue sneaking into this all Marvel pull list. But when it comes to picks of the week, it's almost a certainty when Jonathan Hickman drops an issue. So...
