You Should Be Listening to Amaria

Alternative R&B artist Amaria has a modern sound that builds on the mellow yet engrossing aspects of neo-soul, as mastered by the likes of Erykah Badu and Sade. The Tampa native made her debut on New Year's Day 2020 with the self-produced "Morning," a confident first step from the then-teenaged singer. A steady flow of singles and collaborations, along with 2021 EP Bittersweet, and 2022 EP All For You have followed since then.

The Marias Finally Make It To Tiny Desk 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Fresh off the release of its latest album Submarine, The Marías have never felt more ready-made for the Tiny Desk. With the first few chimes of the synth and notes from Maria Zardoya’s breathy vocals, the band makes it clear that there’s no better place to bring its bedroom pop style than this slightly bigger space. Comic Book Pull List: October 9th, 2024

A nice crop of comics this week. We got the typical new X-Men and Venom War comics. And in the aftermath of "Absolute Power, I'm looking at putting a little more work into DC comics, since their "All-In" intiative suggests a jumping on point for readers. I really enjoyed Batman #153 last week so i'll put that book at the top of my list. And Superman drops this week so i'll take a closer look at that book. But of course, HOW COULD THERE BE ANY OTHER BOOK THIS WEEK HOLDING THE TOP SPOT: Comic Book of The Week: Absolute Batman…

Organized religions in general, in my opinion, are dying forms. They were all very important when we didn't know why the sun moved, why weather changed, why hurricanes occurred, or volcanoes happened, Modern religion is the end trail of modern mythology. But there are people who interpret the Bible literally.

FutureDube Releases A 12-Minute DocuPromo for His Upcoming Space 1999 Documentary: The Eagle Obsession

I remember the sci-fi series "Space 1999" fondly. And the "Eagle" was one of my favorite ships. I use to build intricate models of if out of aluminum foil. So this upcoming documentary tugs at the heart strings. It's good to see people still obsessed with the ship like I was back when I was a Kid. This 12-minute short is a taste of the full 80-minute documentary that will premiere in the summer of 2025 (just in time for the 50th anniversary of SPACE: 1999)
