#ToddyAwards 2023 Songs of The Year

It's that time of year again. Here's my FAVORITE SONGS OF 2023. A real good year for music. I'm still deep into that Neo/lofi sound with some nice Boom Bap Hip-Hop joints mixed in. The Drake/J. Cole "First Person Shooter" managed to sneak in, but that's the only anomaly for this year. ENJOY!!

YouTuber IliaTS Drops An Excellent Fan Edit Dedicated to “Anakin Skywalker/VADER”

Incredibly proud to present my new Darth Vader tribute. Love the character, his story in the Star Wars universe, and most importantly Hayden Christensen. Super happy to see all the support he's actively receiving after his re-appearance in the Kenobi and Ahsoka series, well deserved and a long time coming. I mentioned this in my previous tribute and I still stand by these words - Vader is the reason I love Star Wars so much. Wanted to make a proper love letter to him for a while as I'm not satisfied with my first tribute and now, with all the…

Comic Pull List: December 13th, 2023

As expected, this week's pull list was pretty weak. We had a few 'Fall of X' titles, Moon Knight meets his ends, another interesting issue of the new Outsiders, and Marvel's street-level heroes continued the 'Gang War'. The list as a whole was pretty 'mid', but if I had to pick one book from the bunch, It would be: Comic of The Week: Miles Morales: Spider-man #13 To be honest, I've been enjoying this "Gang War" story more than I expected to. I always enjoy it when we focus on heroes on the street. In this issue, Peter Parker's strike team to…

The #ToddyAwards 2023: Favorite TV/Streaming Shows

Television Show of The Year: The Last of Us Let's be honest. NOTHING came close this year to this video game adaptation of the Naughty Dog phenomenon. Granted, the track record for video game movies and TV shows hasn't been the best (read: Halo, Monster Hunter, Alone in the Dark, etc.). But this time around, HBO did it right. They gave the reigns of the project to Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and shadowed him with Naughty Dog Co-President Neil Druckmann to keep the integrity of the game's story intact. What we got was a tight 9 episode ride that was more a character study, than…

New Years Resolution: Finishing Building My Zombie Literary Universe: The Dead And The Flesh

I had this idea a couple of decades ago to work on a connected universe set in a zombie apocalypse. This came about after I had written a half dozen short stories that all seemed to share the same world attributes. Since then I've been trying to find a way to connect all those stories, along with more recent stuff I've been writing. All the pieces seem to be in place, I just need to stop being lazy and get it done. Hopefully I can mark this off my bucket list in 2024.

If Flute Music Is The New Hotness, Then You Should Be Listening To Chip Wickham

Chip Wickham is a jazz musician and producer who divides his time between Spain, UK and the Middle-East and who has made a name for himself with a series of beautifully crafted solo albums that draw equally on the hard swinging spiritual jazz of Roland Kirk, Yusef Lateef and Sahih Shihab, alongside the music of British jazz legends such as Tubby Hayes and Harold McNair and the more contemporary sounds of Jazzanova, Kyoto Jazz Massive and Robert

Comic Pull List: December 6th, 2023

As the year quickly wraps up, we comic book readers know the pickings start to get slim on Wednesdays. This week, (with the exception of one Bat book) it was all Marvel. Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly reboot The Thunderbolts once again under The Winter Soldier's leadership, Jason Loo launches Sentry #1 with a new take on the character, the street-level heroes continued with the ongoing "Gang War" storyline this week in Amazing Spider-man, and we got some solid issues of X-Men, the Avengers, and Batman. But the pick of the week (as usual) has to go to:  Comic Book of The…

The #ToddyAwards 2023: Favorite Movies

Movie of The Year: Godzilla Minus One I’m surprised as anyone that a new Godzilla movie would take my top spot as movie of the year. And don’t get me wrong, there were a lot of good movies this year. But there was something about this movie and stepped above the rest. The thing that separated this one from other monster movies, is that instead of relying on Godzilla, the movie focused on refugees trying to rebuild a life in the aftermath of the American bombing of WWII. A failed Kamakazi pilot builds a makeshift family with a woman and an…
