One of the most revered and prolific rap producers of his generation, the Alchemist crafts sample-heavy, tough, yet detailed beats suffused with soul. His extensive discography, dating back to the early 1990s, includes tracks by the likes of Dilated Peoples, Mobb Deep, Nas, Ghostface Killah, Lil Wayne, and Kendrick Lamar, and he's so valued as a collaborator that he has been behind joint albums co-billed with the likes of Prodigy (Return of the Mac, 2007), Oh No (including Gutter Water, the duo's first album as Gangrene, 2010), Curren$y (Covert Coup, 2011 and again in 2022 with critical favorite Continuance), Freddie Gibbs (Alfredo, 2020), and Roc Marciano (The Elephant Man's Bones, 2022). One of his highest-charting albums, the Larry June collaboration The Great Escape, appeared in 2023, as well as albums with MIKE and Earl Sweatshirt. Blacks & Whites with Big Hit and Hit-Boy was issued in 2024. In addition to his supporting work as a beatmaker, he has delivered numerous concurrent projects as a headliner and occasional rapper, such as the albums 1st Infantry, Chemical Warfare, and Russian Roulette, and a ceiling-scraping stack of EPs, mixtapes, and instrumental sets. He's also Eminem's long-tenured official DJ.
The word is this reboot of Stephen King's "Salem's Lot" is suppose to drop sometime next month, yet... i haven't heard ONE WORD about it. That fills me with a little concern, since a project like this should be on everyone's radar. Some unconfirmed words are that it's so bad, it might be unsalvagable. But there have been too many time where 'experts' say something about an upcoming movie they haven't seen and it's total false. So, I'm just gonna keep anticipating this movie, while keeping my expectations low. The story is complete fire, so I'm hoping that director Gary Dauberman will do the source material justice.
A writer returns to his hometown and discovers that the residents are being turned into vampires.
So, I've been running around with an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I really didn't have any need to update, it's still been a solid phone for me. So every year i'd watch the new Apple phone events and not really see enough phone innovation to abandon a perfectly good-working phone to spend anther $1000 on a new coat of paint. But THIS YEAR the wear and tear on my phone's frame has gotten to the phone where it's effecting things. The spider-web cracks on the back have grown to cover the entire surface. The screen also started to show some cracks and functionality is starting to slip.
So this year, me and the wife are upgrading to the new Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max. We always get the top of the line, specifically for the camera. Since she's a photographer, she likes having a camera in her pocket that's as close to her pro-gear as possible. And since i'm a videographer, I'd been waiting for the 120 frame/4k resolution to finally be available. When September 20th hits, we'll be the first online to pre-order.
This is iPhone 16 Pro. Built for Apple Intelligence. A new powerful, private, personal, deeply integrated intelligence system…
I love this song. Been listening to the COLORS live version since it dropped, and it's dope to see the official mix and video for it.

This week was a nice week. 16 books is a good haul these days.. most of them I've been anticipating. So far there's been some good stuff cooking from Marvel and DC as of late. DC's Absolute Power has been a monster, along with Marvel's Venom War. As for book of the week, it was no contest...
Comic Book of The Week:
The Ultimates #4
Camp / Noto
....
This issue, we get the tragic backstory on Ultimates member Doctor Doom, who is this universe's Reed Richards. Camp give us an interesting narrative, deconstructing Reed "Doom" Richard using time jumps three periods running in parallel. In the present, we get Iron Lad confronting Doom about his absence from fighting alongside the team. Another time chronicles the lead-up to Reed's attempt to create this universe's Fantastic Four, which ended in the tragedy of the deaths of Sue, Johnny and Ben. And the third showing The Maker, the original Ultimate Universe's Reed Richards, revealing it was he to threw a monkey wrench into the creation of the FF.
The whole book is heartbreaking, showing why Doom joined the Utlimates... whether it's out of revenge, or the possibility of reversing with The Maker did to this universe. There are…

No. It's not a game. This is the world. It is not the one we were supposed to have, but it's the one we made. We did this. We did it with open eyes and willing hands. We broke it, and there is no putting it back together. But I'm damned already... so at least I'm going to try.
