Gaming’s a big part of my life these days. Especially with the introduction of the Pandemic, there wasn’t a lot of things to do at home. Game became my sanity. Anytime I would feel that build up of anxiety on the way, I could grab my controller and get lot in aliens, or sports, or whatever the game of the moment was.

Mobile gaming has been a big part of that also. With the power of mobile devices almost reach that same as consoles, it no longer feels like a 2nd tier game experience to grab your phone or tablet for a quick 15-20 minute gaming session. And even though my selection of game interest tends to constantly rotate depending on what day of the week, there four are my the ones I keep going back too when nothing else works,

Xbox Mobile Play
Play games installed on your Xbox console, including Xbox Game Pass titles, on any compatible PC, Android, or iOS device. Currently Android and iOS excludes backward compatible titles from Xbox 360 or Original Xbox.

Mindblowing. The fact that I can play all the games in my Xbox account (including the 100’s of game pass games) on my iPhone or iPad just blows my mind! All you need is an Xbox Series X or S, and Bluetooth controller, and an Xbox Gold Pass and you can play games anywhere with a solid internet connection. Just last month I went away do a guy’s weekend and got to play Metal Gear Solid 5 in bed every night on my iPad before going to sleep. I may not sound like a big thing, but the kid in me screams with joy everytime I use it.
XCOM 2: War of The Chosen
XCOM 2 is a 2016 turn-based tactics video game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to 2012’s reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown; it takes place 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown. Wikipedia

I’ve been playing this game for almost a decade and it still doesn’t get old. The deployability of this 4X classic is limitless. Throw in the tons of mods and customization that the fandom has been adding for years and you have a game engine you can skin anything on. My latest play-through has been with a ton of Star Wars mods which makes it feel like a totally different game.
Marvel Future Revolution
MARVEL Future Revolution is Marvel’s first Open World Action RPG mobile game. As members of the ‘Omega Flight’ team, players will work together to battle an onslaught of Super Villains, confront their nefarious behaviors and defend the universe.

When mobile developer Netmarble released Marvel Contest of Champions in 2014, and then Marvel Future Fight back in 2015, they were a precursor to their ultimate Marvel game experience. Future Revolution is a fantastic open-world button masher that’s has everything you’d want from a game filled with Marvel superheroes. Highly customizable and highly addictive, I find myself needing to put time limits on this one.
Civilization VI (iPad Pro)
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is a turn-based strategy 4X video game developed by Firaxis Games, published by 2K Games, and distributed by Take-Two Interactive. The Mobile port was published by Aspyr Media. Wikipedia

This complete port from PC is a marvel! Nothing is left out. Everything found in the classic PC game can be found on the mobile version. Somehow the touch screen controls don’t feel clunky. This game feels like it was made for mobile.
