CBS All Access’ Tell Me A Story Reimagines Classic Fairy Tails

CBS All Access’ Tell Me A Story Reimagines Classic Fairy Tails

Tell Me A Story takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. Set in modern-day New York City, the first season of this serialized drama interweaves “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel and Gretel” into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Is Started to Feel Like The Rightful Successor To Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Just like Joss Whedon’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the new Netflix original The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina first comes off like another Young Adult TV series. But after the first episode, it could be something more. True, it feels like all the other CW shows, but there’s a secret darkness just underneath the surface that (I hope) will be something different. I’ve never seen it’s sister show, Riverdale. I don’t know if it’s also a supernatural show, and if Sabrina turns out to be good, I might backtrack and take in the whole Archie Universe.

Daredevil Season 3 Shines Amidst Other Marvel Cancellations

Daredevil Season 3 Shines Amidst Other Marvel Cancellations

As I start binging the new season of Daredevil this weekend, I’m encouraged by the comments that it’s the best season of any Marvel streaming or TV shows to date. It sounds like the first two seasons and last years Defenders were prime character development material and now the show runners can hit the ground running and tell the main story: Matt Murdock vs. Wilson Fisk. Throw in Bullseye, Daredevil’s 2nd greatest enemy and you got an awesome canvas for adapting Frank Miller’s Born Again storyline.

DC Universe’s Titans Shows Promise

DC Universe’s Titans Shows Promise

I wasn’t expecting Titans to be anything special. The first few teaser/trailers weren’t too thrilling. But watching the first episode, it felt like the early days of Arrow. I don’t know if this show is in the same universe as the CW shows, but aq crossover wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

It’s always awesome when David Tenant shows up as a wacky character. An angel and a demon try to stop The Apocalypse? Yes please.

Hoping Robin Wright Give House of Cards A Proper Finale in Season 6

Hoping Robin Wright Give House of Cards A Proper Finale in Season 6

Goddamn, Kevin Spacey. You were one of my favorite actors and starring in one of my favorite shows. Now lets hope Robin Wright can get the show back on course and not let the controversy ruin an excellent show.

Pike and Spoke Join The Adventure on Season 2 of Star Trek Discovery

Pike and Spoke Join The Adventure on Season 2 of Star Trek Discovery

I don’t know about this upcoming season of Star Trek Discovery. I’m still up in the air on where this fits into the overall continuity. I know I should just enjoy the ride, but I’m a ‘continuity’ guy. And how that Captain Christopher Pike, the original captain of The Enterprise and Spock are joining the cast, I hope this doesn’t muddy the waters even further. Come on, CBS. Keep this train on the rails please.

The Titans Series Slowly Begins To Look Watchable

The Titans Series Slowly Begins To Look Watchable

Besides the “Fuck Batman” comment, all the news and visuals concerning the new Titans tv series debuting on the new DC streaming network has been dull and boring. But this new trailer makes the show feel more like it belongs in the Arrowverse. It’s slowing becoming must-see tv for me. Disregard the Netflix branding in the trailer. The trailer is for outside the US.

Light As A Feather Looks Like A Reboot of The Craft

Light As A Feather Looks Like A Reboot of The Craft

A high school senior, Alex, has an encounter one night with mysterious lights, and it leaves her with dangerous, supernatural abilities but no recollection of who she is or how she got the powers. She then comes across her friend Sean, who offers to take her into his home until she is better. However, when a mysterious organization with questionable motives tracks her down, the two are forced to run away, embarking on an adventure to unearth the truth of what actually transpired that one night.

Kingpin’s Back in Hells Kitchen in The 3rd Season of Daredevil

Kingpin’s Back in Hells Kitchen in The 3rd Season of Daredevil

Judging by the end of The Defenders first season, it looks like the storyline for season 3 will be an adaptation of Frank Miller’s excellent “Born Again” story arc that ran in the comic (issues 227-233). If they can just capture a glimpse of Miller’s awesomeness from the comic, they could be the best season of any Marvel/Netflix series to date.
